Terms of Service

Effective 12 August 2026. These terms govern every use of the netdistance edge platform — the services reached through netdistance.net, app.netdistance.net and api.netdistance.net.

Draft — two terms of this contract are not yet set

The operating legal entity and the governing jurisdiction and venue are placeholders in this document. Until they are filled in, treat this page as a statement of intent rather than an executed agreement, and do not rely on it as the contract for a paid plan.

If you need the executed terms before purchasing, ask us at support@netdistance.net.

1. The service

netdistance provides edge infrastructure: authoritative DNS, TLS termination, DDoS admission control, a web application firewall, bot management, content caching, and API and AI gateways, operated as a proxy in front of origin services you control. The service is provided by the netdistance platform operator (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you enter this agreement on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent (“you”).

2. Your account

You are responsible for the credentials, API keys and management tokens issued to your account, and for everything done with them. Keep them secret; rotate anything you believe exposed (the portal can revoke any key or session at any time). You must provide a working email address — it is how we verify the account, deliver security codes, and reach you about incidents affecting your traffic.

3. Your content and your origins

You may only put hostnames behind the service that you control and are entitled to serve. Traffic proxied through the platform remains yours: we claim no rights over it beyond what is needed to provide the service (termination, inspection by the security layers you enable, caching where your origin’s headers permit it, and logging as described in the Privacy Policy).

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to:

  • serve, distribute or facilitate malware, phishing, or content you have no right to distribute;
  • attack, probe or disrupt networks or services — yours excepted, ours never;
  • circumvent the quotas, rate limits or security controls of your plan or of other tenants;
  • resell the service as-is without a written agreement with us;
  • break the law of any jurisdiction your traffic touches.

We may suspend or terminate service for violations — immediately where other tenants, the platform, or third parties are being harmed, and with notice otherwise.

5. Plans, quotas and payment

Each plan defines request volume, sustained rate, enabled layers, log retention and AI token budgets; the limits are enforced at the edge. Current plans and prices are listed at netdistance.net/plans. Paid plans are invoiced as agreed at purchase. Where a plan permits overage, overage is billed at the published rate; where it does not, traffic beyond the quota may be limited. Fees are non-refundable except where a service-level commitment in your own contract says otherwise, or the law requires it.

6. Service levels

We operate the platform to be continuously available, publish live status at status.netdistance.net, and build every layer to fail toward serving your traffic. The service is nevertheless provided “as is”: no service-level agreement applies to the self-serve plans, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. An availability commitment and its service credits exist only where an Enterprise contract states them in writing; the terms of any such commitment are set out in that contract, which is provided directly and is not published on this site.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows: neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total aggregate liability under this agreement is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for wilful misconduct).

8. Termination

You can delete your zones and your account from the portal at any time; deletion removes your configuration from the edge and your cached content from every node. We may terminate with 30 days’ notice, or immediately for material breach of these terms. Sections 7, 9 and 10 survive termination.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email and on this page at least 14 days before they take effect. The Effective date at the top of this page identifies the version currently in force. Continued use after that date is acceptance.

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the law of the operator's registered jurisdiction, excluding its conflict-of-law rules; the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive venue. Both are placeholders pending the operator disclosure described at the top of this page. Questions about these terms: support@netdistance.net, or see Contact.
